Senior Department
This splendid Manor House with its peaceful gardens has proved to be the ideal environment for the pupils of our Early Years and Junior departments.
We could not have predicted just how proud the pupils would be, having such an historic and inspiring setting in which to enjoy academic, sporting and leisure activities.
The nursery and primary school has achieved considerable success since it opened in 2002 and, 2006 was the perfect time to offer the same successful formula to pupils embarking upon their secondary education.
By remaining true to our ethos of "an excellent education for all, based on small classes and individual attention," we offer a unique alternative to the large senior schools of today.
We offer the opportunity for pupils to continue to be educated in the happy, caring and secure environment they have experienced at junior level as opposed to the often daunting prospect of transferring to a large senior school.
To ensure continuity and a smooth, steady growth, we have added one or two year groups each September, finally adding Year 11 in September 2009. After sitting their G.C.S.E. examinations, pupils will transfer to one of the excellent sixth form schools and colleges we are fortunate to have in the area, or pursue one of the many alternative options for pupils at this stage in their education. Fees are very competitive and additionally, we are delighted to be able to offer a 30% academic scholarship to one pupil each year entering year 7.
This generous award will benefit the successful pupils throughout their time at Wickham Court School.
Run by School Director, Mrs. Lisa Harries and Head Teacher, Mrs. Barbara Hunter, specialist teachers of the highest calibre have been employed to teach the full range of subjects you expect your child to be offered at an independent schoo; together with an exciting range of extra curricular activities.
Applications are considered throughout the year and as you will have many questions, we would be pleased to welcome you to the school to view the facilities. Our open mornings are always advertised in advance on the website home page and in the local press or, should you prefer a private tour, kindly call the school to make an appointment.
