The Parent Teacher Association
Many thanks to everyone who attended the Christmas fair today. We had a fabulous time and were heartened to see the sea of faces new and old in our beautiful school, despite the freezing weather.
Wickham Court PTA would like to thank all of the traders who attended. We hope you all had a good day and hopefully we will see you all again at the summer fair.
We would especially like to thank all of the volunteers, the contributors of bottles, teddy's, Jars and all the other bits and bobs. Special mention goes to all the guys and girls who worked all day and then also stayed and help tidy up.
See you all in the Summer !

Wickham Court School has a very active PTA, which organises fundraising and social activities for both the children and their families and friends. Our aim is to create a community atmosphere within the school and at the same time raise money to buy the fun extras that will compliment our children’s education and enhance their experience at the school.
As well as the Chair, Secretary and Treasurer, each class has at least one PTA representative and all parents are welcome to attend our monthly meetings. Mrs Hunter represents the teaching staff and Mrs Harries represents the school.
We are very keen to welcome new faces and new ideas to the PTA and hope that many new parents will join us in our fundraising efforts. We meet once a month – our meetings are short and informal and are not only a great way to become involved in how money is raised and spent, but also to get to know other parents and really feel part of the school.
Last year our project was to provide a trim trail for all ages in the school grounds. We raised enough to purchase Phase 1 – a basic set of equipment, which was installed at Christmas, but aim to add to it over the next couple of years to make it both a great resource for the school and an exciting playtime activity for the children.
In 2009/10, events so far have included the Christmas Fair 2009, which was a lovely afternoon with a wonderful atmosphere and raised £1,700; a Scholastic Book Fair, which earned us £600 in commission; the Valentine’s Day Cake Sale, for which was a huge spread of homemade cakes was donated; and our ‘Dog show’ Summer Fair in June. We are now looking forward to the new academic year.
PTA volunteers have also been sorting out the main library and setting up a new Senior library, incorporating the 100s of new books we received as commission after the last book fair. We also provide refreshments after many of the events on the school’s calendar and run a second-hand uniform shop in which parents can buy and sell uniform, with 50% of the proceeds going to the PTA.
Further information about the dates of meetings and future events is available from PTA Secretary Lorraine Stone via the Contact Us Page. For information about the uniform shop, please contact Cynthia Pintarelli via the Contact Us Page.
