9th June Junior
Dear Parents,
We are disappointed that we again have travellers living on the road leading to the school. The owners of the land are working on having the travellers removed as soon as possible, using the court order that they put in place in February of this year. We will keep you informed of any news with this regard and, in the mean time, should you have any concerns or worries, do not hesitate to contact Mrs Harries or Mrs Hunter.
How lucky we were with the weather for our trip to the beach on Tuesday. The tide was perfect, exposing the rock pools for most of the day. I think everyone enjoyed themselves.
The summer entertainment from Nursery to Year 1, and Years 2/ 3, 4 and 5/6 plays were a great success. Well done children and of course we must say a big thank you to all the staff for their hard work. We thank the PTA for providing refreshments.
Prize-Giving for Years 5/6 will take place on Tuesday, 13th July at 2pm in Austen Hall. Parents of children in Years 5/6 are invited to join us. After the proceedings, you and your child are invited to join the staff for tea.
On Friday, 16th July at 9.30am we are having our end of year service at St. John’s Church, to which all parents are invited. The PTA will serve tea and coffee back at school after the service. There will be NO Austen’s Club on Friday, 16th July. School finishes at 12 o’clock.
Following this term’s successful start, Tiny Tennis plans to return to Wickham Court in the autumn please see the attached letter.
Mrs. Georgell, the flute teacher has spaces available next term (Yr.3 upwards – 10 lessons £140 per term). If you would like your son/daughter to learn the flute, please inform the school office.
As this is the last Newsletter this term, I would like on behalf of all the staff to wish you a very happy and relaxing holiday. Thank you for the support you have given us throughout the year.
We return to school on Wednesday, 1st September. Pupils may wear summer uniform. Children in Reception and Year 1 should come wearing their sports clothes that day.
Yours sincerely,
Mrs. B.A. Hunter,
Head Teacher
