Dear Parents,

A very happy New Year to you all and a warm welcome to the children and parents who have joined Wickham Court this term.

Dancing, music and swimming lessons resume next week. 

If any of your contact details have changed, please let the office know so that they may update their records.

Each year, all schools are required to submit a return showing the number of authorised and unauthorised absences.  For this reason we are informing you how we record pupils’ attendance/non attendance. 

Registration for the seniors is 8.30am and 9am for the juniors.  If a pupil is not in school half an hour after registration, the absence will be recorded as unauthorised.  If a pupil then subsequently arrives late, this will be recorded as ‘lateness’.

If a pupil is absent for any other reason; i.e. family holiday, illness, interview, medical/dental appointments, religious observance, the pupil’s absence will be recorded as authorised absence provided that the school has received notification either by letter or an e-mail.   A telephone call on the first day of absence is required  followed by a letter on the pupil’s return explaining the absence otherwise the absence will be recorded as ‘unauthorised’.

There will be an Absence Form in the office for you to complete or you may download this form from the website.

For parents of pupils going on the Disneyland Paris Study Abroad Experience, there will be a pre-departure meeting on Tuesday, 10th January at 6.30pm in Room 44 (Mrs. Mohan’s tutor room).  The pupils are welcome to attend.  A letter with further details will be emailed to you.

If you have any of the following games you are no longer using and would like to donate them to the school, we would be very grateful.  Chess, Draughts, Monopoly, Cleudo.
